June 28        Departure from Boston airport.

 

June 29        Arrival Munich airport. Transfer to your accommodation in the Munich area. Possible evening visit to a Women’s World Cup match (tickets on request and subject to availability).

                   2011 Women’s World Cup:

                            

The 2011 Women’s World Cup will take place in Germany from June 26-July 17. On request, and at a supplement, we can try to get tickets to a match for your group. There are group matches taking place in Augsburg, which is approx. 1-2 hours driving distance from Munich.                         Hotel accommodation/Half board - daily breakfast and dinner.

Accommodation in  a 3-star hotel just outside the center of Munich. Rooms for 2 and 3 people. All rooms have two queen beds, shower, toilet and TV. Facilities of the hotel include restaurant, bar, souvenir shop and sauna.

                  

June 30        Make a bus tour past all of Munich's famous sights such as: the Peterskirche; the Marienplatz, with the Old and New Town Hall; the Residenz, the Royal Palace; the Deutsches Museum; the Munich Municipal Museum; the Frauenkirche and the St. Michaelskirche. A trip to the Olympic village, built for the 1972 Olympic Games, will be included as well. Evening game vs. a local team.

 

July 1           Excursion to Dachau. The name has been a symbol of horror and despair since the first Nazi concentration camp was built here in 1933. There is now a museum that houses an exhibition to document this grim piece of history. Evening game vs. a local team.

 

July 2           Excursion to Schloss Nymphenburg. Just west of Munich stands a splendid 495‑acre park with lakes and hunting lodges and Nymphenburg Palace, once residence of the Bavarian Kings. Possible evening visit to a Women’s World Cup match (tickets on request and subject to availability).

 

July 3                     Transfer to Cologne. After arrival possibilities for a light training session.

There are group and 2nd round matches taking place in Leverkusen, Bochum and Monchengladbach June 27-July 10, all of which are approx. 1-2 hours driving distance from Cologne.                    Accommodation Cologne

                  

                             Youth accommodation/Half board - daily breakfast and dinner (self service meals).

                             Accommodation in a comfortable youth center near the center of Cologne. Rooms for 4 people all with a private shower and toilet. The center has a dining hall, a mini shop and internet corner. Supplement for rooms for 2 people in same accommodation is $17.00 per person per night.

          Cologne

 
                   Tourist class hotel situated just outside Cologne, approx. 17 kilometers from the center of Cologne. All twin rooms (2 people) have private shower, toilet and TV. Some rooms have a queen bed only for 2 people. The hotel has a lounge, restaurant and bar. Supplement per person and night is $25.00.

 

July 4                        Optional morning 2 hour training session and/or day trip Cologne. Visit the major sights such as the Cologne Cathedral, the Old City (Altstadt), the Botanical Gardens and the stadium of FC Köln (Mungerdorfer Stadium). Afternoon shopping at the Schildergasse and Hohestrasse. Evening match with local club.  

 

July 5           Rhein River Tour; the Cologne Skyline and many other famous sights in the surrounding area can also be discovered from the river. Possible evening visit to a Women’s World Cup match (tickets on request and subject to availability).

 

July 6                     Day trip to Düsseldorf and/or Bonn. Düsseldorf combines the legendary good cheer of the Rhineland with cosmopolitan charm of an international exhibition city. Düsseldorf offers eighteen museums and the German Opera House. It is also a paradise for shoppers - the Königsallee with its classy shops and pavement cafés is now firmly established as the unofficial public catwalk for the latest fashion trends. Bonn, the former capital of the Federal Republic, offers many attractions such as the 18th century old town hall, the market square, the university and of course Beethoven's house. Evening game vs. a local team.

 

July 7                     Transfer to Amsterdam, Cologne or Düsseldorf airport. Return flight.

The Tour Prices quoted above include:

 

§                     Accommodations and meals as specified in the itinerary.

§                     All mentioned transfers by bus.

§                     During your stay a private bus will be available exclusively for your group. You will have 800 free kilometers for excursions and transfers.

§                     Costs for arranging the sport program.

§                     Local representatives/assistants at each destination will provide you with any assistance when necessary, and help plan or amend your daily schedule as needed.

§                     Round trip air fare as well as airport taxes as noted.

 

Not included:

 

§                     Beverages (soda) with meals.

§                     Gratuities for representatives and bus drivers.

§                     Admission fees to attractions.

 

Options

 

§                     An accident, illness and trip cancellation insurance. Information will be mailed to you after booking.

§                     Single rooms in hotels are an additional US$ 40.00 (CAN$ 50.00) per night – this in addition to the double room prices. Please notice that in cases when we offered double rooms (2 people per room) and your group has an odd number of people (7, 9, etc.) booked then we have to incorporate 1 triple room (rest doubles) or 1 single room (rest doubles). It is up to the group to decide if triple rooms or single rooms will be incorporated in such a case, and if single rooms are used then the group is responsible for the extra cost of US$ 40.00 (CAN $ 50.00) per person per night.
